I really, really want a Swiss army knife (a proper @victorinox one). Does anyone have a model they can recommend? It's for general-purpose thing-doing, I'm not very outdoorsy but love to be overprepared

@maxdubler The lack of ogees is pretty obvious tbh.

One of these houses has wood framed windows. One of them has vinyl or fiberglass. Can you tell which homeowner has carelessly degraded the historic character of their house?

One fun thing about owning a home in San Francisco is that it’s illegal to replace my street-facing windows with new energy-efficient and sound-insulating double pane designs because busybodies at the planning department think they look tacky. default.sfplanning.org/publications_r…

@IsobelCarr Looks like a stock dress for… what like 1720s? 30s? Those opposing lace flounces were a Thing. I’m guessing this dress came from stock and had detached robings that would’ve been pinned down over the stomacher tabs so they figured the bodice straps should fall down.

@zoecello On my iPhone I use RadarScope since I'm a bit of a weather nerd and on my Mac I use the NOAA website, lightningmaps.org, and Weather Underground all in browsers.

@IsobelCarr Fedilab allows you to do that. You follow another servers “local” timeline.
