On Mon the new Ofgem Apr-Jul Energy Price Cap's announced. Yet in practice it's likely to be not hugely impactful as currently
- It's GOVT THAT SETS ENERGY PRICES
- And GOVT plans to INCREASE EM 20% in Apr (I'm campaigning for it not to)
Let me explain..
The Ofgem Chief Exec has told MPs the price cap will rise c42% in Oct putting typical use to £2,800/yr. I'm glad he's been open about this, I asked last week for them to publish forward guidance.
This is higher than analysts predictions of £2,600 (both bloody awful though)
Keeping us warm on a wet and windy Saturday: the stunning @ConturaStoves i8: glass on 3 sides gives an outstanding 270-degree fire view; the stove is also available with a proprietary, easily-assembled chimney breast. Download the Contura brochure:

Domestic indoor wood burning is subject to a host of regulations to ensure emissions are minimised & efficiency is maximised. Robust, independent appliance certification schemes are also in place. The same can't be said of outdoor burning e.g. on bonfires

Remember, remember this 5th November that unregulated outdoor burning, such as bonfires, accounts for a significant proportion of emissions currently being attributed to wood burning stoves.

How nice is this ? 😍😍
The low Contura 330G enables you to place your fireplace at floor level, either freestanding or inside an existing masonry chimney (the stove in the illustration has a fire-rated constructional hearth).
