@amberrrlorineee @trendyhoopstars I like her passing ability, or her vision. But it’s not an asset until she stops turning it over so much. So again, it’s give and take away. The net is marginal.

@Ankhzed @24hxn @trendyhoopstars I js explained to you exactly why her coach would want that and her averaging 20 fga on a team with no other 5 stars is perfectly fine, she averages the most assists itl and generates one of the best offenses so i dont think any coach cares about 2 extra TO other pg’s wouldnt get

@CookedByZer0 @24hxn @trendyhoopstars I doubt her coach wanted her PG to get rebounds too, just to average 20 FGA per game, twice as much as Czinano and Stuelke, Isn't her high like 34 attempts too..Legit PGs have an off hand dribble, can finish left or right, with an assist to turnover ratio of about 3.0, not 1.87.

You’d think star players representing Team USA would bring fans together around a common goal of supporting the team and winning games. But anyone looking at the situation logically could see that was never going to happen. After the opening game, a wave of fans immediately began comparing Caitlin Clark’s stats to those of Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese. The arguments started instantly: Clark had more points than them combined, she outperformed them, the game “proved” who the better player or better point guard was. Think pieces followed as if a definitive conclusion had been reached. And again, this was after one game—against Senegal. Not France, not Spain, not Belgium, but Senegal. You would assume the common objective is simple: win the game. Fast forward to the next matchup against a slightly tougher opponent, Puerto Rico, and Caitlin Clark had what could fairly be called an off performance: 8 points, 2 assists, 3 turnovers, and 33/20 shooting splits. Those numbers were a drop from the previous game where she recorded 17 points and 12 assists—again, against Senegal. Meanwhile, Bueckers and Reese finished as the two most productive players for Team USA. And right on cue, the think pieces flooded the timeline. Now the narrative shifted.
Players are jealous.
They won’t pass the ball.
They’re trying to get their own shine. But if we’re talking about Angel Reese, the attention was coming regardless. She’s one of the rare players who receives both extremes. She will be celebrated even when her stat lines are modest because her fan base hasn’t formed a purely transactional relationship with her success. At the same time, every lowlight clip spreads just as fast. Those lowlight clips routinely collect thousands of likes. As for Paige Bueckers, a performance like this was always coming. Nothing looked forced in her game. And many seemed to forget she missed the entire first quarter of the opening matchup. Had she played those minutes, her stat line in that first game could have looked much closer to this one. But instead of the conversation being “Team USA won and different players contributed,” the discussion immediately turned into conspiracy theories and speculation—largely because Bueckers and Reese, particularly Reese, played well. Lost in the noise were the basic facts: ✨Reese shot 60% from the field ✨Bueckers shot 58% ✨Clark shot 33%, despite taking only one more shot than in the previous game, and finished with more turnovers than made baskets So the pattern becomes clear. Those players will be criticized if they are viewed as being outperformed—and they will also be criticized when they outperform. Some of it may come with having a passionate fanbase. The belief among many supporters is that Caitlin Clark is the best thing the sport has ever seen. That level of praise creates enormous pressure, especially when those expectations were established before her career had fully unfolded. It leads people to assume Clark must be the primary contributor every single game. But basketball simply doesn’t work that way. And you rarely see this type of discourse elsewhere. For example, Dominique Malonga of France scored 21 points in her first game and followed it with 8 in the second. Meanwhile her teammate Leila Lacan had 7 points in the first game and 16 in the second. Yet you won’t find French fans turning that into a debate about jealousy, hierarchy, or who was trying to take over from whom. You won’t see them arguing that Malonga outperformed Lacan in Game 1 or that Lacan was trying to outshine Malonga in Game 2. They simply see it for what it is. Different players contributing on different nights to help their team win. Which brings us back to the real question: If every performance immediately turns into a comparison, a rivalry, or a theory about teammates working against each other, is that truly the type of discourse that “grows” the game? Or is it simply noise that distracts from the game itself?

@Ankhzed @24hxn @trendyhoopstars You brought up why she averages so many rebounds in the wnba and college and I’m telling you thats what her coaches wanted and shes good enough off ball you don’t need to be elite off ball to be a “legit” point guard

@CookedByZer0 @24hxn @trendyhoopstars No, we don't exactly know what coach Lawson wants but I'm sure that's not it...she already had that habit since college, leaving her man to try to take rebounds from the bigs, she does it to AB quite often, she needs to learn how to play off the ball like every legit Point guard.

@Ankhzed @24hxn @trendyhoopstars The reason is bc her coaches want her to get the defensive rebound because she makes the best outlet passes in the game or could start easy transition offense for her team

@24hxn @trendyhoopstars I tried to tell some of her fans this very simple fact, if you watch her games, she's constantly leaving her man to try to get rebounds, that's why she averaged 5.5 in the Pros and 7.1 in college.

@Uhbrowhat @Greg_Oryel @ChaseBrownSZN @ScottKacsmar I'm commenting because I don't like idiots. Maye didn't do anything for his team which is why they threw it away on 3rd down instead of trying to convert. They put the whole game in the hands of the defense. If you can't admit things like this from time to time, you're useless

@CookedByZer0 @SwipaCam Please look at our AVAILABLE receivers before you say some dumb shit like this. Then on top of that our fucking QB who beat the best QB in the playoffs this year was also out. And I think today showed without Nix's mobility and legs our OL is not as good as people say.

@zekinhho @SwipaCam Again the broncos have a top 3 defense, pats receivers couldn’t get separation and the O line was terrible, wtf do you expect him to do passing wise 😂 our receivers did have been making plays but we still have the worst receiver core in the playoffs

@CookedByZer0 @SwipaCam Prove your point? Your fanbase is convinced he is a MVP, he had 2 and a half quarters of no snow and did nothing. Scored a touchdown that Stidham gifted you. Diggs, Hunter and Boutte have been making plays all season do not act like they are straight scrubs.
