60 So then many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This statement is very unpleasant; who can listen to it?” 61 But Jesus, aware that His disciples were complaining about this, said to them, “Is this offensive to you? 62 What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh provides no benefit; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray Him. Every Catholic argument falls apart when you prevent them from cherry picking verses. Jesus himself explained. I don't need men to tell me Jesus meant something contrary to what he said he meant.

You are right he couldn't have been more clear. 62 What then if you see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh provides no benefit; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life. It's clear as day. Jesus is The Word, he said his words "are spirit and are life", he said the bread is his flesh, he said the bread is his body broken for us, he said the wine is his blood, he said the wine is his blood shed to seal the new covenant. He said partake in communion in remembrance of these things. When you read scripture as a single unified body you aren't left feeling you need enlightened clearly to divine the esoteric meanings.

Yes, brother. Jesus tells us that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood, literally. It’s a continual pascal sacrifice for us and our salvation. In the passage you quote, he’s basically saying “if you don’t believe that I can make my body and blood available to you to eat of, how can you believe that I am one with God and will rise up in Glory into Heaven?”.

Brother, the argument is that when you take communion you are consuming his literal flesh and blood. That's not the case. You don't remember something you are currently doing. You remember something that happened in the past. His body was broken and his blood shed to seal a new covenant. So we take communion to remember that. We aren't literally eating his flesh and drinking his blood which Catholicism teaches.

@womenpostingws Why did I start crying after reading this? That girl just needs someone to lift her up who isn’t obligated to.

1 Cor 3:13-15 “each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.”

The weirdest thing about Protestantism is that they dont know the Bible nearly as good as they think they do. I constantly see Protestants get stunned with verses they have (or at least that's what it looks like) never seen before

@MrCasey62 Paul speaks directly about purgatory in 1 Corinthians 3:13-15. Your works will be tested with fire. Those who pass get the reward of heaven. But, “If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.”

Clearly she needs to find a new pastor, since he obviously doesn’t understand the Bible, Catholicism OR Purgatory. Catholicism has never taught you can “earn your way to heaven” or that heaven is something you get “prayed into”. And Purgatory is 100% biblical. Always has been.

One year ago, during lent, Jordan Peterson partnered with ultra-Zionists to produce a study asserting that the declaration “Christ is King” was antisemitic in which he named me, a new Catholic convert absent any evidence, as an extremist for the public declaration. Today, @BishopBarron partners with his University. With His Excellency’s recent appearance alongside ultra-Zionist heretic Paula White, his public assertion (which he walked back) that a Jew could be saved without Christ, many are seeking clarity regarding his allegiances. Again I ask Catholics worldwide, what is the respectful course of action for laymen to raise concerns that are amassing with Bishop Barron?

“Why am I here 2000 years later still talking about this Jesus if he just stayed in his grave?” From @BishopBarron’s course: God, The Bible, & Humanity on Peterson Academy.

@RealCandaceO @TaylorRMarshall Converts, especially new ones, absolutely shouldn’t make comments about our religion until maturity into the church. Clearly you aren’t a mature Catholic. You have years of learning. 🤫

@RealCandaceO @TaylorRMarshall Here’s more of the totally organic smear campaign against one of the most respected bishops in the US. You attack him for who he speaks to, you make weird insinuations about his masculinity, and now you’re making vague accusations about being crooked. Same old formula
