@RealDonaldDoo A Christian organization of pastors in ajeromi ifelodun local government area in Ajegunle Lagos …organized an award night in a church for a local government chairman…and he came and received the award. He is a Muslim. Was that not an endorsement?

I hear the point o, but it’s not as simple as “leave pastors alone and face the government.” Yes, we didn’t elect pastors into office. But influence in a nation doesn’t only come from political power, it also comes from moral, spiritual, and cultural authority. And in Nigeria, spiritual leaders carry massive influence over millions of people. That influence cannot be separated from national conversations. Let’s be honest, when politicians are seeking power, where do they go ? They visit altars. They sit with pastors. They request prayers, endorsements, and visibility. They understand that spiritual leaders shape public perception and can mobilize people. So it becomes inconsistent to say, “They matter when we want power, but they don’t matter when it’s time to speak truth to power.” If political office holders recognize their influence enough to seek them publicly and privately, then the public is not wrong to expect those same leaders to speak when it matters publicly. Spiritual leaders are not just “church workers.” In a society like Naija, they’re Moral voices, Custodians of values, Guides to millions of consciences. Hmmm, something crossed my mind, but that’s talk for another day. Silence, in moments that demand truth, is not neutrality, it communicates something. And this is not about “attacking pastors.” It’s about accountability that matches influence. The higher the platform, the greater the responsibility. Saying people should not ask spiritual leaders to speak is honestly unwise and biased. It selectively removes one of the most powerful voices in society from responsibility, while holding everyone else accountable. Yes, citizens have a role. Yes, government has a role. But spiritual leaders also have a role, especially in a nation where their words can calm, guide, challenge, or awaken millions. You cannot separate influence from responsibility. People query why Burnaboy doesn’t speak in crucial times, did we vote for him ? A few months ago, they spoke about Kiddwaya, did we vote for him ? The internet has been on and on about CP And co, did we vote for them ? So let’s stop this talk about leave pastors out of it. If politicians acknowledge the influence of pastors and always make it a duty to go to them when they want power. Pastors should understand that, there will come a day they’ll be called to speak back to those politicians. Except we just want to keep doing ourselves. If Muslims were targeted and killed like Christians are, do you think their imams will let us rest ? From all over the world, they’ll be talking.

Stop attacking pastors over what the government should be responsible for, you didn’t elect pastors into office. The constant criticism of men of God needs to stop. We keep focusing on minor issues while ignoring the major ones. We are all responsible for building a better Nigeria, not just spiritual leaders. As long as you carry a Nigerian passport, you count.

Your oppressors will still attend that annual religious gathering at TBS this December and will be given special recognitions, while you clap and hail them. Then go on to pray to God for what your oppressors deprived you of…Muguranking🤡🤡

"Your Pastors are not the government. Leave them alone" I'm tired of seeing this stupid line of arguments. Your government leaders kneel before your Pastors every Sunday. Your Pastors craft nasty messages like "Saul will come before Paul" to enable blood sucking demons into power. Your pastors are complicitly evil. Your Pastors do not control security or policies, but they control 80M Christians. They have an obligation from a place of influence. Not even the Bible you teach from, sidelines the effect of religious leaders in spinning the wheels of power. Your Pastors are IN FACT the government. Literally and metaphorically. About 3 currently active Governors are serving ushers in big 3 churches. Your former vice president was a Senior Pastor. Your EFCC director is. Your first lady is. Your Ministers are. YOUR PASTORS ARE THE GOVERNMENT.
