The Cooper Square Community Land Trust has owned, preserved, and stewarded land and housing for nearly 30 years in Manhattan's Lower East Side.
My friend & luchador @MonxoLopez was the recipient of the Institute for Public Architecture annual award for his work w @SouthBronxUnite alongside @rasmiakf who reminded us that our most precious public architecture is public housing. Orgullosa!

When the city tried to give this publicly-owned building away to Amazon, organizing kept it public! Now - with @wqclt we’re plotting to turn it into a community land trust: community-owned and run space, including a commissary kitchen & street vendor garage!
