If you think you are getting this in the UK, you are in for disappointment.
The UK media rights are worth approx. £5bn. If the Premier League charged £20 a month, you would need 20 million subscribers to get close to that number.

The Premier League has finally decided to cut out the middle man by launching its own direct-to-consumer streaming channel in Singapore — a move that may signal the end of a decades-old broadcasting model. Dubbed ‘Premflix’ when it was first mooted in 2020, Premier League + is a six-year joint venture with existing league partner StarHub and will start operating in the Southeast Asian island state from the start of next season. Speaking at the Financial Times’ Business of Football Summit in London on Thursday, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: “We’re going direct to consumer in partnership with StarHub, who have a lot of existing customers. “It will be a new app that you can download on your smart TV or laptop. @eli1ah I question your read of his position. In the videos I have seen he accepts governments come and go, so its fair to say he doesnt make a judgement on what they would do if they did increase tax take. It seems naive thinking from an economist because it is, but its not his logic.

It’s not a moan. It’s a question on the rigour in the logic of the argument, as no data is being provided from the economist, and an assessment of the media literacy of the people interviewing. This is the bare minimum.

Sure. Again, has cause and effect if foreign investment is blocked then you get into other complex issues elsewhere. Anyway this is my point - the simplistic take like there’s no cause and effect is just bizarre to me.
