The biggest reversal of earnings season so far: Palantir, $PLTR, is now down -14% from its post-earnings high seen at 4:05 PM ET yesterday. The reversal is bringing tech stocks down across the board, with Nasdaq 100 futures down -1.5%.

$PLTR quarter is one of those moments where operating reality & market imagination finally meet and the question is whether the imagination has gone too far. I don't think people realize how insane it is to grow revenue 63% while maintaining 51% operating margins in software. That level of efficiency is almost unheard of which is why $NVDA CEO Jensen Huang called Palantir’s ontology “the most important enterprise stack in the world.” The ratio of commercial revenue to customer count is just as extreme with only 530 commercial customers generating ~$400M in one quarter when most software companies at that revenue scale have thousands of clients so this is an insane ratio for enterprise software. Every story you see about $GOOGL, $MSFT, $META, $AMZN, $ORCL or OpenAI building new compute factories feeds directly into why Palantir can post numbers like this. Palantir captures the software layer where that infrastructure spending turns capacity into productivity. So yes, the stock trades rich but it’s also the only pure play with exposure to every hyperscaler dollar being spent. Palantir doesn’t buy GPUs or build datacenters since it simply benefits from everyone else’s CapEx.
