Greeks are native to Anatolia. The other peoples of Anatolia started speaking Greek from a point onwards. Turks are of a different race, steppe nomads who islamised and turkified the indigenous people of Anatolia, Greeks including. Anatolia btw is a Greek word, it means land of the east. 🙂
