I received this in the mail today from the Speaker of the SA Parliament @LeonBignell. This was a lovely token of recognition for a job not many people are willing to do. To the 712 who went before me, thanks for your service, to those who come after me, I wish you every success.

Very sad news about John Baker. He was such a champion for Surf Lifesaving and his community. Condolences to his family. 💔

What a career. What a person. I’ll never forget how grateful he was that he could come to Adelaide and train and play during the global uncertainty of Covid. His genuine appreciation for what SA did to keep tennis on court, people active and the world moving was special.
