most people building onchain AI are focused on the compute layer. very few are thinking about the market layer underneath it. who decides which node serves which request? who ensures the price is fair? and what stops the system from extracting value from users or underpaying nodes? @ritualnet published a paper working through exactly this. the goal is a posted-price mechanism where users just see a price and decide, no bidding required. the allocation picks the most economically valuable match between requests and nodes. margin stays at zero, no subsidies needed. it sounds simple. designing a system that hits all three at once with complex compute constraints and no central authority is genuinely hard to get right. this is the economic foundation behind how Ritual's network is built to operate. not just compute infrastructure. a sustainable market for compute. onchain AI only works long term if the market underneath it is designed properly.
