"Stay close to the river and cry
and the river's gonna feel you're the god of rain he's gonna worship you like god and creator for ages.
And all the fairies of the forest will come the wanna show you to the dance of night
this is the Age of Aquarius."

@harukaawake Rude, no? Straight forward? Yes. Love it.
I guess if you grow up in a nation where being agreeable is a huge part of daily life, it's liberating to be able to actually speak your mind online.
English

🇯🇵 A Japanese YouTuber named Kanon Aoki recently posted that X's auto translation feature is making foreigners think that Japanese people are rude.
Her posts have been debated a lot both in Japan and abroad. However, after thinking about this for a while, I have to say that I respectfully disagree.
Most foreigners have already realized Japan is a proudly conservative country. Most of us simply don’t want to follow the path Western countries took with wokeism and its cultural changes. Sure, rude as she calls them "low-level" posters exist but that's not a uniquely Japanese problem.
But most Japanese users aren't mocking foreigners as people. Instead, we're mocking foreign leftist ideologies and trends they see as incompatible with Japanese values.
This is not an attack on Kanon Aoki herself. I'm not too familiar with her videos but I just want to be clear that I don't think the cultural exchange between Japan and foreign countries has damaged our image. The people who didn't like us then (such as China) still don't like us now.
We spend a lot of time trying to be "liked". Instead, maybe it's better that we just be ourselves.

Keep in mind that journey was just 1 of 9 stages and the castles are the bigger ones, where the main bosses live and if skilled enough Die.
There are 3 Quests to get 3 items, each quest is 3 areas , one area is in town, next is a sailing area, then finally to the castle. Each area has 3 zones.
I got carried away with 3s

@3d_machinist @NilesSankey A well structured smaller team is the best. 20-30 ppl at most for in-house.
Then outsource everything that has no real impact on game design, stylistic choices etc.
For example: Good, detailed and consistent concept art. Outsource modeling and texturing.
English

@CorpseHerder @NilesSankey Yeah, I agree. You can better communicate with everybody in a smaller team and have more control on what game your team wants to make and there's way less stress compared to a big company with a bunch of devs under their belt and there's more complexity involved in big companies.
English

I suffer most from "mild annoyance". There's just so much incompetence in the corporate world on a basic level.
Like imagine you have a multi-billion dollar IP that's clearly struggling to resonate w x% of the fan base. Wouldn't you at least TRY to contact former designers and say "Hey you wanna chat for an hour, maybe do lunch? We'd love just to hear your perspective".
Not saying I have the answers.. but wouldn't you at least make a basic effort at due diligence?? I would have spoken w them for free.

I feel sorry for all of the OG bungie devs that have to suffer the same pain that we as veteran fans dealt with halo for many years since 343i took over halo and them being treated poorly by 343i and MS and swept under the rug like they're irrelevant. Pretty sad if you ask me.
English

@3d_machinist @NilesSankey "AAA" is dead. Smaller studios and Indie teams are where it's at.
English

@CorpseHerder @NilesSankey I hope we can get this sorted out sooner than later. It will get progressively worse if we the people don't do something about this. Hopefully people will catch on and realize the consequences of what these idiots are pushing in today's games and entertainment as a whole.
English

@3d_machinist @NilesSankey I also think that they are beginning to realize, but at this point it's kinda late, and the once popular, praised studios have such a bad rep that It's gonna take a fucking miracle for them to get the trust back, if at all possible.
English

@3d_machinist @NilesSankey Indeed. And it's not easy to solve for the bigger studios. They need the money. But they also fail to realize that when they make bad games, pandering to a minority of "gamers" the games won't sell. This is where we are currently.
