We had a $500 dinner bill and left a $40 tip. We felt good about it… until our server said she expected at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she suddenly said she was “just joking” — but she wasn’t smiling. Be honest… was $40 really that bad?

California has to pay minimum wage for waiters… the negative feedback should be going to the states allowing this, not the people not tipping.

@herodiuss @Mr_Husky1 No, they’re not. Businesses are not required to pay waitstaff minimum wage. That person may be making $5/hour plus tips. I do think that servers etc should be paid at least minimum wage and forget tipping. I’m sick of any and everyone asking for tips.
