I just became aware that at least two of my posts have been shared on the r/CosmereOnScreen subreddit, and that is storming amazing! It is very cool to see that. Hello to anyone who came from there! <3

Brandon said last night that Kelsier's age is very flexible, so while we should expect a high-profile actor, they could be anywhere from their 30s to even their 60s. As stated before, Vin may be aged up a bit, or it could be that Elend would be aged down to address the age gap.

'THE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE' series will adapt one book per season, according to Brandon. Each season will be 8-10 episodes, depending on budget, with likely 1-hour-long episodes. Brandon will write all of Kaladin's scenes and will leave Shallan and Dalinar to the other co-writer.

As a reminder, per the news about the 8-10 episodes of 'THE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE' series. Some side characters and events that get major page time in the books won't get the same treatment in the show. The focus will be on Kaladin, Shallan, and Dalinar. Same goes for 'MISTBORN'.

Those events will still happen, and those characters might still appear, but we won't see them in great detail. Kaladin, Shallan, and Dalinar will be the focus.

@yamilVII @Nathanael__W @CosmereUpdates True but even the graphic audio adaptations which move very fast and cut out a lot of "he said, she looked to the side," etc etc etc are 40-60 hours long a piece idk if you've listened to that version but it legit sounds like just listening to a show for a lot of it

Vin will likely be aged up in the 'MISTBORN' film so as not to make her relationship with Elend have an age gap like in the book. Brandon stated the '90s were full of stories that had the "fairy tale 16-year-old girl" trope, and that he no longer wants to have that in his story.

@ReanEggsAndHam I think it should easily be possible, given that 10 episodes would be about 10 hours.

@CosmereUpdates I have no idea how Words of Radiance, Oathbringer or Wind & Truth would work without 2 seasons for each one 😬 maybe he's hoping Season 1 will be so successful he'll get away with them greenlighting more than ten episodes for future seasons LMAO

Because Shallan's ethnicity does not perfectly exist in real life, Brandon said he will allow the possibility of her being played by a Caucasian actress. Adolin, Renarin, etc., will remain Asian, with likely Japanese-American actors playing the parts according to Brandon.

Brandon hopes that the second Cosmere film will be an adaptation of 'THE EMPEROR'S SOUL', allowing it to showcase the many flavors of the Cosmere. He envisions the film having a prestige quality and would likely release it as an Apple TV+ streaming original.

Brandon's ideal adaptations for both 'TRESS OF THE EMERALD SEA' and 'YUMI AND THE NIGHTMARE PAINTER' would be animated features. Though getting producers to agree to make these is far more difficult due to the lack of popularity/sales compared to Mistborn and Stormlight.

A classical score with recognizable themes and emotion is Brandon's preferred type of soundtrack. This style will likely be employed for the 'MISTBORN' films and 'STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE' series. Are there any composers that fit the Cosmere in your mind?

"Sometimes, I worry that I'm not the hero everyone thinks I am." According to Brandon, we will have to Watch and Find Out (WAFO) how he will incorporate the many iconic epigraphs for the 'MISTBORN' film.

'MISTBORN: A SECRET HISTORY' will only be adapted depending on whether the hopefully big-name actor playing Kelsier can fit it into their schedule. Brandon hopes he can adapt this story and will talk with Apple later down the line regarding it.

Brandon wants a director who loves and truly understands 'MISTBORN' in the same way that Denis Villeneuve loves Dune and Peter Jackson loves LOTR. Finding the right director will be Apple and Brandon's biggest challenge. Do you have any dream directors who would fit well?

Kelsier will be a well-known and established, hopefully big-name actor! Brandon confirmed this on today's livestream, sharing that Kelsier will be hard to cast because of the demanding nature of the character. Vin will be easier and will likely be played by a newer actress.

Cosmere nerds rejoice! Brandon has confirmed yet again that he has included his cameo in the 'MISTBORN' script! Naturally, his cameo will feature a very gruesome, likely funny death, as is Brandon's wish. Though it is possible the cameo might not make it in the final edit.
