Let me share a few dimensions of this protest: 1. Emotional: Students died by suicide because of the paper leak. That’s sad. But the bigger question for society is: why are students taking their own lives over an exam? Life is much bigger than a single exam. Even if the leak hadn’t happened, some might have taken the same step after failing. This needs a societal-level fix. 2. Accountability: I’m all for accountability. But the minister didn’t leak the paper, and his resignation isn’t going to fix the system. Do you really think the government doesn’t care about the students? They’ve already announced that the exam will be conducted online next year. An attempt to fix the problem has already been made. 3. Political: This one is pretty obvious. At this point, everyone is trying to score political points. 4. Scale: Do you think they’ll stop at the NEET protest? Students are just the ladder at this point. Once it gains momentum, the agenda will likely go far beyond NEET.

I am entirely biased. Entirely. Which is my right. And here’s the nuance you’re too stupid to get. This govt is still MY govt. They work for you and me equally and are accountable to both of us. I have zero interest in ousting them. I accept that that are in power and I expect them to work for you me and every kid on that street irrespective of how we all voted.

Behind this protest is a family shattered by loss. 💔

There is a war ongoing in Ukraine. Thousands of civilians, many of them children, have been killed in Gaza over the last three years. There is ongoing conflict in the Middle East, affecting millions of people. There are wars in parts of Africa and conflicts all over the world. There are also ongoing protests in my Albania against the regime. However, all the war criminals and politicians combined have not received as much hate as #Lionel Messi has received alone. You would think he was killing children in Gaza, killing civilians in Sudan, or bombing girls' schools in Iran. But no. His only "mistake" is winning and beating his opponents with a football, and somehow he is carrying on his shoulders all the sins of the planet. Long live the King. Happy holidays to everyone.
