I'm experimenting a bit with the bonus system and am trying to make it feel more satisfying by animating it as a "chain reaction". What do you think? #gamedev#WishlistWednesday 🎮
@noio_games it could be used for knocking something over or preventing something from moving, if the thing is a screen or 2 away and around some corners, then youd have to try to push / manipulate the logs a bit since they go in a fairly straight line. or have the player drag then up hill
always tricky to find like.. a gameplay purpose for this kind of fun stuff
but maybe we just let it be fun?
without making the player 'solve' something?
@BambooBanditSR i see. i guess the character could hold up a map and you zoom in on it.. and you cant really walk around or defend yourself while youre looking at it. dunno if thatd help with navigation cos itd have to be quite a rough map to avoid spoiling the exploration.
Getting a few of the prototype assets and systems in for my exploration game, in preparation for testing whether the intended gameplay mechanics will be interesting enough.
@CosmicMenace for starters this time I was thinking of something smaller, just making such a website for myself, not a platform for others to use 😅but that doesn't sound bad at all! I wonder what's already similar out there.
@slashie_ maybe for indie devs? i dont quite remember geocities.. almost makes me think itd be like itch, but then more focused on development rather than game distribution?
First draft map for my exploration game. Seems like the routes might be too hard to memorize, so it might need a better hierarchy of location sizes to help with that.
It's too hard to count how many different gamedev projects I've started in the last 12 years, so now it's time to start finishing something.
First up is a 2D exploration / survival type game on an alien planet, with low resolution art. I'll post more when theres some screenshots
@BambooBanditSR i wanted the zombies to actually try to break into the castle i was building to defend my stuff, instead of standing around outside. and more structures to discover and explore.
As someone who loved minecraft but is now burnt out on it/wanted kore out of it, im excited for hytale. I dont think it looks like its gonna be “just another minecraft” as far as i can see. I was always wanting more rpg-like and complex systems
