@TheBuddyCSM One job I never envied. But, i would occasionally drop in on my DS's when at Ft Benning. Groundhog day takes a very special breed.

When I was a Sergeant First Class my platoon was using Clifford Range at Ft. Stewart. I went up into the range tower and the target operator was my Drill Sergeant. He was a Staff Sergeant when he was my DS and now we were both SFCs. We had a great talk and he was happy as hell with how I turned out. It was weird at first because he was an absolute tyrant as a drill sergeant and now he was in “proud dad” mode. Every time I have an NCO that gets selected to be a Drill Sergeant I tell them how jealous I am that the Army has chosen them to shape the next generation of Soldiers.
