@howell_jemma There are many small things that we can do within the school, community and home that will lead to a great impact on our environment. One that I will be encouraging my students to do will be using a reusable water bottle to try & reduce our material footprint.

This is a great example of how to reduce waste by reusing it. Such a great activity to utilise in the classroom so that students can gain a different perspective of recycle, reduce and reuse. One persons trash is another persons treasure! #UoNTeach #EDUC4750 #SDG12

So true! We often think about food when we think about #SDG12. My Ss are going to create a 'Sustainable Scarecrow' using a variety of old products that deserve a second chance at life. So important that our Ss recognise there is no limit when it comes to up-cycling! #Educ4750

@MaddyPietras That's a great idea, thanks for sharing! I've also recently heard that baking paper isn't recyclable and can be replaced for reusable baking mats instead. It's great that we are now provided with so many alternatives to make a change and protect the environment.

@CourtDonaldson What a great idea! Fresh fruit and vegetables are the perfect waste free snack. Beeswax wraps are also an eco-sustainable solution to single-use plastics, for those food items that need to be kept fresh in lunchboxes.

@MaddyPietras That's very true. Integrating sustainable development goals through other KLA's like literacy, art and geography (just to name a few) will be beneficial to deepen student learning.

@CourtDonaldson I agree! So many opportunities to integrate these ideas into other KLA’s. Teachers are currently faced with an overcrowded curriculum, therefore we need to think outside the box when teaching these global issues.
