I want to create a community for people building stuff with @Replit Agent. Just somewhere where we can share what we’re working on, get ideas and help. Who’s in when I set it up? Agent is going to be the next big thing, I’m sure of it. And I want to be around people using it.

@thecodaguy @coda_hq What’s your process for building them? What foundational knowledge would you recommend acquiring before trying to develop a pack?

👀 Automation descriptions just dropped. Your future self is already thanking you for the great documentation.

My biggest current sadness with @coda_hq is automations. Automations run crucial business processes, but in a doc with over 10 automations keeping track of what does what is a nightmare. While my great hope for 2024 is the ability to add automation descriptions (like @airtable allows), this is how I suggest you go about it: Run an if condition in your automation that simply says TRUE. Then in a comment block, type in all your documentation! What do you think? How do you handle automations and documenting processes across your business?

@coda_hq @CourtneyBaker I dont think theres any "pre-mature" There just a row exists, or it doesnt exist. And the moment it exists (aka is added, whether form, api, or in the doc natively) there should be an automation trigger for that Even if the row is COMPLETELY empty with no values

"When new row is added" Why is this not yet a trigger for @coda_hq automations????

@coda_hq @thecodaguy Right, why can’t the behavior of a new row added be the same as form submission? It doesn’t seem that hard.

@coda_hq @thecodaguy Can’t it be both? When a row is created with content in it, like a form submission or catching a webhook.

@thecodaguy Ah, there's nuance in this: Do you fire the automation when the row is actually added? Or when content is filled in? If the latter, which columns?

@thecodaguy @YouTube @coda_hq An overview of best practices, like what you just pointed out. “How to really get the most out of Coda webhooks” - using Hookdeck to handle all the advanced functionality that Coda lacks - capturing full json, parsing it, then deleting it

Say more? Which part? It’s a big topic! We use hookdeck for background rules like exponential back off, retries, and filtering to ensure deliverability Then in coda we log full json to a row, run corresponding api calls based of json payload, Then delete initial json payload cause it takes up a ton of space in a doc and will shut the doc down

Running your own business is an emotional roller coaster Yesterday I was on top of the world with 1 million ideas to extend our offerings and increase revenue Today I feel sooo low and everything feels slow. How do you handle the ebbs and flows?

@EcomAlistair I often run into errors when finding a newly created row even with a 45 second delay.

I love the flexibility of Coda and often default to building a tool in it over Airtable. But boy oh boy does it frustrate our devs when reading/writing data to tables via the API.... not even a 30s delay is enough to get back data from a row we just updated!

@GnosticRooster @mckaywrigley My initial thought was is the “take a deep breath” necessary if the second half of the instruction directs it to follow a step-by-step process. If it is necessary for both parts, then wild times are ahead..

@CourtneyBaker @mckaywrigley This seems to suggest a highly novel notion/presence of a 'subconscious' affect/effect on AI/LLM. Specifically that ChatGPT logic recognizes take-a-deep-breath/step-by-step objectively optimizes results but can not 'determine' how/why it does.

You can give ChatGPT a picture of your team’s whiteboarding session and have it write the code for you. This is absolutely insane.

@mckaywrigley I asked ChatGPT if that specific instruction influenced its response. After denying it would change anything in its output and some back and forth, I fed it the bulk of the Ars Technica article. Here’s the response:
