Between the Covers cancelled: BBC announces ‘difficult decision’ to axe Sara Cox’s book-centric chat show | The Independent how dare you axe this wonderful unique format with @sarajcox ….. another outrageous decision from @BBC independent.co.uk/bulletin/cultu…
@tobyjames33@BBCBreakfast I guess it's a dress rehearsal for Christmas morning! I have had a shower, so hopefully it's not that I smell🤷♂️! Have a good Sunday.
@SarahBailey3 I sooooo hate this thing about cats .... its defo a present thing not to eat ... I am just glad its no bigger than mice and robins ... but I still try everything I can to stop them being brought in ... I have nightmares with dead but worse if alive as I cant catch mice!
@TheMontyDon That’s a good lesson learned the hard way poor you and Nellie - must have been very stressful. If I had a pound for every time i threw a stick for my labs... sadly no longer here but I would definitely heed the advice in the future. Fingers crossed for a full recovery x
Last night Nellie had a very near miss. Chasing a stick, she impaled herself on it and speared her throat, missing two arteries by millimetres.
Thanks to our brilliant vet, working at night, she is fine- if very sorry for herself. So please DONT THROW STICKS FOR DOGS.
@theJeremyVine@durham_uni Awwww Lillian Groves I remember working with Lillian in the NE many years ago before she retired first time .... always the same amazing person
Thread: a word on this delightful lady. When I took a group of friends around Durham Cathedral 8 years ago, all of whom had been @durham_uni with me, I knew I should "ask for Lilian"! We ended up working our trip around when the legendary guide was available. She was wonderful.
I love my 3 cats -

(Yes she has collar & bell)

I appear to have missed the centenary of an important VC action – one close to my heart that I've shared with a good few Bristol school children. So, only a day late, here is the tale of the splendidly named Captain Manley Angell James VC, 8th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment
