The links to Summerville and Sander Berge are interesting, but ask yourself: do they genuinely take Manchester United closer to competing for major titles? I’m not convinced they do. United are not in a position where they can fill the squad with projects and hope they develop into top players over time. This summer presents a huge opportunity. Several rivals have shown signs of regression, and United need to take advantage by signing players who can immediately elevate the starting XI and narrow the gap at the top. If we’re targeting players that the league’s elite clubs aren’t seriously pursuing, it’s fair to question whether that strategy is ambitious enough.

If Manchester United are genuinely considering a move for West Ham’s Summerville, it tells you everything you need to know about Rashford’s future at the club. There isn’t one! That chapter appears to finally be coming to an end and probably best for all parties. Someone will undoubtedly sign him. Rashford has spoken about wanting a new challenge, so coming back would just feel weird.

I’ve been seeing different takes flying around about Amorim’s imminent appointment by AC Milan. Most negative and some positive but my concern is that this man is no longer Manchester United manager, since his sacking he’s not uttered a single word about United in a negative way so I wonder why when we should focus and put our energy behind Michael Carrick we’re still stuck talking about an ex who appears to have moved on. We need to do better as a fanbase for real. This guy’s gone, we’re in a better place as a club since his dismissal so why can’t we just focus on ourselves and leave a man who doesn’t represent us anymore be? Are we the toxic ex here or Ruben Amorim?
