@GeryWoelfel I would be all they could afford as the 6th man and Oscar the Grouch would be the backup center with the leftover salary cap space.

Let’s imagine the Bucks trade Antetokounmpo to the Cavaliers, which some NBA folks are speculating.
The Cavs could then potentially have a starting lineup next season of:
— Antetokounmpo.
— James Harden.
— Jarrett Allen.
— Donovan Mitchell.
And …
— LeBron James.
Now that would be a Dream Team.

@ShamsCharania @AdamSchefter Shams... just stop. You should be banned from Giannis reporting until something actually happens. You lied for months.
English

The Milwaukee Bucks are open for business on trade calls and offers for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo entering the NBA combine and over six weeks away from the draft, sources told ESPN.

@MatthewMKE98 Not to be the old guy who says "stats aren't everything" but I think Sal's stats will improve AND he has things that dont show up on the stat sheet like effort, grit, and is clearly loved in the Locker room.
English

For as loaded as the infield is in the minors for the Brewers
The polar opposite can be said for the outfield
Even at the major league level it’s question marks
Chourio is the only sure thing
Mitchell & Frelick have been rough lately
Yeli and Bauers are bad defenders
And the minors is basically Lara and Payne
Some of this young guys are gonna have to make the move to the outfield at some point it seems like
English

@MatthewMKE98 I dont think you can. Hes an elite arm talent. Agreed not huge money but id extend him if at all possible.
English

@Cover2Kaleb As good as Sal has been
U can find 100 players just like Sal Frelick, I doubt they throw huge money at him
English

@mattschneidman you were just in the Brewers TV broadcast hype video going into the bottom of the 10th. Looking real serious in your Yankees gear.

Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A.
If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club.
If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club.
If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club.
But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club.
You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club.
What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

@Peter_Bukowski But Peter, that isn't a reliable QB only reference. Success rate, EPA/play, Completion rate over expected are all variable based on play callers, pass catchers, and protection levels. Megatron was a monster, but if Stafford didnt have other competent humans beyond Megatron.
English

The year Calvin Johnson had almost 2,000 yards the Lions had a below-average offense and Matthew Stafford was 14th in EPA/play.
Behind Matt Schaub and Eli Manning.
Cover2Kaleb@Cover2Kaleb
@Peter_Bukowski Right but that's my point. His situation sucked. Coach, GM, supporting players. All of it except for Megatron.
English

@Peter_Bukowski Right but that's my point. His situation sucked. Coach, GM, supporting players. All of it except for Megatron.
English

@Cover2Kaleb Not if the team isn't winning and the offenses aren't good. It's not like those pre-Kamara Saints teams where the defense was bad, but Brees and that offense were awesome every year.
They weren't even good offenses!
English

@Peter_Bukowski That situation drives perception. I think Stafford would have been viewed in a higher level had he not been in Detroit. I was comparing that as the inverse to Kurt Warner who was fantastic and then people forgot about that a little bit in Arizona near the end of his career.
English

@Cover2Kaleb Sure but Warner had already had all-time elite seasons before Arizona! His offenses changed football in St Louis. What are you arguing here??
English

@Peter_Bukowski I still think, and maybe neither of us will convince the other, that Stafford was underrated in Detroit due to the nature of that franchise, and while he is overhyped now, is still a fantastic QB who should find his way into Canton eventually. (I would vote for him if had a vote)
English

@Cover2Kaleb No I’m saying the Cardinals were good on offense when Warner and Fitz were healthy
English

@Peter_Bukowski Yoy say Romo didnt have weapons?! Jason Witten, Marion Barber, Miles Austin, TERRELL OWENS?!? cmon Peter. Im all for a discussion but that's ridiculous. The sum of those guys is better than a single target, even if that target is Megatron.
English

@Peter_Bukowski But that cant be the start all end all. Kurt Warner had years with Fitz in AZ that they had bad offenses.
If the structure is bad, the level a player can reach is limited, plain and simple. Romo had multiple top 5 offensive lines and great balanced weapons.
English

@Cover2Kaleb He had Calvin Johnson! And they had mediocre offenses.
English

@Peter_Bukowski @Peter_Bukowski - not that their situation is the same, but i think there has to be some hindsight driven change of perception like we are doing with Darnold right now or like Kurt Warner. Sometimes people just dont get the best out of a guy but hes always had the talent.
English

@Cover2Kaleb The Rams stuff has people rewriting history. One Pro Bowl in Detroit. Romo had 4. Rivers had 8.
Stafford was never widely considered in their class as a Lion.
English

@TSO_Riccracc @Peter_Bukowski Okay let's chill out with all that. I was trying to have a very civil conversation with Peter.
English

@Peter_Bukowski @Cover2Kaleb Oh boy, pro bowls. Can't forget those, not like reporters are fucking coaches and those are the same ppl who submit votes. I'm sure it's a very honest and egalitarian method of determining the leagues best players yr in and out and it's not a bunch of casuals sorting by standings
English

@Peter_Bukowski @Peter_Bukowski - in general I agree his status is being floated too high based on his time in LA, but I do think that comparing him to Romo in the all time list is disgraceful. I'd personally have Stafford over Russ all time.
English

@Peter_Bukowski I think my point stems from the fact that he was undervalued in Detroit. Again, the coaching and ownership were atrocious. Rivers was more consistent but also had some great teams in SD. Romo had all the media love being in Dallas. I would have taken Stafford over Romo any day.
