Carolina, D.C., Maryland, and Connecticut. 🔥High: Washington state, Oregon, Montana, probably N. Dakota (imputed), Arkansas, Alabama, Virginia, Delaware, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. PMC estimates 1 in 38 people (2.7%) are actively infectious. Wastewater-derived case estimates suggest 1.3 million new daily infections.

As expected, Columbia University's mask ban is being enforced against students wearing masks for medical reasons (even though the ban itself claims to make an exception).

into the con is by simply passing through the airport. It is possible to pick it up at the airport, incubate it and spread it at the con, and then get back home before you start feeling sick - especially if you didn't wear a mask.

If you got sick at #Megaplex, it is not necessarily because someone else KNOWINGLY attended while sick. It is possible to be contagious before feeling symptoms, especially with Covid - it is capable of spreading stealthily that way. A simple way of unknowingly bringing illness/

If you came home from #Megaplex sick, please test, preferably over multiple days. While it is not necessarily Covid, it is not improbable since we are currently in a surge (the 11th wave). You cannot be sure if it is Covid or not from symptoms alone, which can vary greatly.

9. Third, in my own experience, people do not understand Long Covid. They have a fixed view of it that can be summed up as 'severe symptoms that do not resolve'. It is also seen as rare, which is why I know people with Long Covid who don't know they have Long Covid.
