Fun with fWAR. 2024 Isaac Paredes- 3.4, 3.6/162 Cody Bellinger- 2.2, 2.8/162 KYLE TUCKER- 4.2, 8.7/162 !!! Now, I realize Tucker isn’t likely to keep that pace up. But it isn’t unreasonable to believe he can still be more valuable than both Belli+Paredes were at ~6.4 fWAR

This is a pointless discussion. Jared Goff is incapable of extending plays, so he has no choice but to sit in the pocket and get rid of the ball quickly. He’s very good at it. Part of Caleb Williams arsenal is keeping plays alive and making the play after the play. Ben Johnson has consistently said they don’t want to neuter that part of his game. None of that is to say that Caleb is a better QB than Jared, he clearly isn’t, especially not at this point. But the time to throw stat when comparing these 2 players is mostly irrelevant
Dan Orlovsky@danorlovsky7

This is still an issue: Caleb already has more 3+ second time-to-throw games under Ben Johnson (6) than Jared Goff did (5 in 3 years). @PaulHembo

@DJKeenstar @firstroundmock @danorlovsky7 @PaulHembo You’re focusing on the mistakes that’s why. The seemingly easy plays are being overlooked because most aren’t paying attention to what happens before the snap. Happened with the Swift screen last game. Caleb saw the defense, changed the play, got it to Swift quick for 20+

@CowardlyJed @firstroundmock @danorlovsky7 @PaulHembo I don't know if you watched on Sunday but he is definitely not improving. He's still lagging I'm definitely optimistic but he's missing wide open guys and throwing turnover worthy balls (like his one for Rome) because he's staring down his first read for too long

@DJKeenstar @firstroundmock @danorlovsky7 @PaulHembo He’s operating in a far more complex system than Justin ever did. Ben Johnson has said the system is complex. And he’s improving with his progressions. While also being able to extend plays which is where the increase in TTT is coming from.

@danorlovsky7 @PaulHembo Caleb Williams' process is too slow. A slow time to throw has been a consistent problem for Williams since he was at USC - and it was a problem last season, too.

Completion percent is not a direct correlation to accuracy TTT is not a direct correlation to processing speed An actual scout would know this Someone who claims to watch all the film would know this This cuck is the most fraudulent account on this app. Which says a lot

Caleb Williams is further regressing in year two folks — I’ll be the one voice illustrating what’s really going on in a sea of damage control. He’s less accurate and his process has gotten slower under Ben Johnson. 2024: 62.5% 2025: 61.9% 2024: 3.03 seconds time time to throw (PFF) 2025: 3.20 seconds time to throw (PFF) Notice a pattern with PFF’s color-coded grading as this season has gone on?

@TomTuohy @nflrums It’s about getting more out of the quarterback position and putting the team in a better position to win. They are not going anywhere with Caleb Williams.

@jasrifootball @USATODAY The Bears should pursue Kirk Cousins as their starter.
FIRST ROUND MOCK@firstroundmock

The Bears would be a wildcard team this season if they had Kirk Cousins (2024: 66.9%) instead of being stuck with the more inconsistent Caleb Williams (2024: 62.5%). After what Ben Johnson did with Jared Goff, I’m convinced of it. 2025: With Cousins: Bears 10-7 With Williams: Bears 7-10 7 NFC Playoff team quarterbacks completion percentage from 2024 (it took at least 10 wins to qualify): Jared Goff (Lions): 72.4% Jalen Hurts (Eagles): 68.7% Baker Mayfield (Bucs): 71.4% Matthew Stafford (Rams): 65.8% Sam Darnold (Vikings): 66.2% Jayden Daniels (Commanders): 69.0% Jordan Love: (Packers): 63.1% 6/7 of the NFC playoff quarterbacks had completion percentages better than 65.0%. The Bears are not getting that level of consistency out of Williams. Cousins showed last season he’s still capable of producing at that level. Last season as a starter, Cousins went 7-7 with the Falcons and Williams went 5-12 with the Bears. In 14 games last season, Cousins took 28 sacks (2.0 per game average). Cousins had a 2.71 second time to throw (NEXT GEN STATS). In 17 games last season, Williams was the most sacked quarterback in the NFL with 68 sacks (4.0 per game average). Williams time to throw 2.92 seconds (NEXT GEN STATS) Cousins makes quicker throwing decisions and he is more efficient than Williams. He also takes less yardage losses that set the offense back with sacks. The Bears would be better off in 2025 with Cousins.

Should the Cubs take a look at Michael King in free agency? Last 3 seasons: 351.2 IP | 2.99 ERA | 1.18 WHIP 27.6 K% | 8.3 BB% | .223 OPP AVG Health may be a question as he missed about half of 2025 with shoulder and knee issues. Projected: 3 yrs, $75M

“Fields fans” were never the cult They were the truth tellers since the beginning They understood that Chicago already had a blueprint for winning championships Toughness, run game, and defense Chicago sold their soul for a “4k passing” offense while teams like the Eagles are winning super owls with less than 3k passing yards You want to transform Chicago to the Chiefs? You better make sure you get the Qb right, the coach right, and the trenches right on both sides of the ball. Long way to go..

𝗥𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗦: The Vikings are looking to add a veteran quarterback to the roster after the season ending injury to Carson Wentz, per @AdamSchefter They only have JJ McCarthy and Max Brosmer on their active roster. They had Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones last season, but failed to re-sign either one.
