A message to resident doctors from Health and Social Care Secretary @wesstreeting

Resident doctors strikes, coming after a 28.9% pay increase, are self-defeating for doctors, damaging to patients and our efforts to rebuild our NHS. My letter to resident doctors with an offer to expand jobs and improve conditions.

"The BMA should call off these needless strikes, come back to the table, and give negotiations a chance." Watch Health and Social Care Secretary @WesStreeting's statement on BMA resident doctors announcing more strikes.

Resident doctors strikes are completely unnecessary and irresponsible. My team and I have been talking to the BMA in good faith and are prepared to negotiate on jobs and conditions. They’ve had a 28.9% pay rise. We can’t go further now. But we can address jobs and conditions👇🏻

Your @DoctorsVoteUK candidates in the West Midlands have been out across the region, spreading the message to vote in the BMA Resident Doctor Committee elections. We will fight for FPR and increased training places. Please follow the link to vote: elections.bma.org.uk
