Today, the CAPR cancelled an already year-long delayed physiotherapy exam to license physios in 🇨🇦. When talking about quality of care, it's ridiculous to think that by continuously delaying the exam, physios will be able to retain optimal clinical skills. @PTAlberta #MED6288

Nutrition is the FOUNDATION for our mental and physical health. Isn't that obvious to everyone? It has been known for thousands of years. Why don't our current governments and policy makers make it a top priority?

Amendments to Bill C-7 were accepted yesterday, but there is still a long way to go in achieving fair, equitable, timely, and better person-centered care in medical assistance in dying. #MED6288 #HealthPolicy

I would highly recommend this book to everyone in Disease and Injury Prevention and #MED6288 Policy and Decision Making. It compliments both topics from this week, and provides a first hand perspective of addiction in the Canadian context

From The Ashes by Jesse Thistle provides a crucial perspective in the struggle with addiction and health/social services. "I'd tried accessing treatment before, many times, but [...] there was always some kind of restriction." (p. 222) Thank you for sharing your story #MED6288

Looking ahead and preparing for many potential outcomes and long-term effects of the pandemic will be important, especially in implementing effective healthy public policies. #MED6288

The #COVID19 pandemic has affected almost everyone in the world, says @WHO's @DrTedros. "That means mass trauma, even bigger than what the 🌎 experienced after WW2... mass trauma affects communities for many years to come so countries have to see it as such & prepare for that."
