Funded by TD Friends of the Environment, Cows and Fish, supported the Nation in a skill development workshop. With the help of members, dual pond levelling devices were installed to minimize risk of flooding while allowing beaver to be busy building resilience in the community.

Following a Beaver coexistence workshop last Fall, the community was interested in learning ways to keep beaver in the community, while minimizing some of the complications of living with beaver, such as flooding.

Sucker Creek First Nation is a small community located on SW shore of Lesser Slave Lake. For the beaver living on the Nation, Sucker Creek is a very busy place. Within the nation the community counted 47 beaver dams- a dam healthy beaver population!
