Every day across southwest Missouri, CoxHealth EMS teams show up for the moments that matter most. From late-night emergencies to community events, they bring skill, compassion and calm when it counts — often before a patient even reaches the hospital. We’re grateful for their unwavering commitment.

All the smiles (and wagging tails) at Cox Medical Center Branson’s Puppies on the Patio. Staff enjoyed time with adorable pups looking for forever homes. It was a simple way to pause, recharge and bring a little joy to the people who care for others every day.

Because in healthcare and beyond, how you respond in high-pressure moments defines your leadership.

At CoxHealth, care starts before a patient even enters the room. Karen Ready, EVS patient coordinator, helps ensure rooms are ready for life-saving care. And they’re ready fast. “If you clean that room like your own loved one needs it, you’ll always be successful,” says Karen.

During National Hospital Week, CoxHealth leaders rolled up their sleeves to serve Employee Appreciation Day meals across multiple campuses. It's a small thank‑you for the compassion, teamwork and dedication our colleagues bring every day.

Throughout National Hospital Week, we’re celebrating the people behind the care. Meet Tammy Brown, LPN, who has spent nearly 30 years caring for generations of families at our Crane Clinic, right in her hometown. “I enjoy helping patients who are down on their luck and making sure they have what they need to move forward.” Thank you, Tammy, for your heart and dedication.

During National Hospital Week, we’re reflecting on the daily work that our teams do to provide compassionate care for patients and their families. After his brother suffered a massive stroke in early 2026, longtime CoxHealth physician Dr. Douglas Duncan experienced our care teams as a family member. Grateful for their dedication, Dr. Duncan expressed his thanks in a heartfelt letter, sharing, "I saw true caring and compassion that came from within the hearts of the staff caring for, and caring about, my brother." His personal thank you is a powerful reminder that the compassion of our colleagues leaves a lasting impact.

Susan Carter will retire this May after more than four decades at CoxHealth — leaving behind a legacy felt by patients, coworkers and generations of her own family. Twenty-one years as a physician assistant. A lifetime of impact. Sarah Fast’s passion for family practice is rooted in connection, compassion and truly listening to her patients — and it shows every day. “I treat my patients as if they were my own family.” That philosophy has guided Sarah Fast’s journey at CoxHealth — creating care built on trust, empathy and lasting relationships.

This weekend, @STLChildrens at CoxHealth welcomed 85 families for our annual NICU Reunion — a celebration of life, hope and resilience. Once tiny patients, these kids returned laughing, playing and thriving. Thank you for trusting us with your smallest miracles.
