now that The Boys is finally over i can confidently say that show was excruciatingly mid, (especially after season 2) and dragged along aimlessly with horrible writing into a lacklustre ending. they just made a large scale show small, endless potential with characters and storylines wasted, very underwhelming fights and use of powers

Like as much as I dig Homelander’s final scene, you can’t tell me it wouldn’t have been a bit more satisfying if he had a full on super powered tantrum.
Not just to pay off what the show has been teasing, but to drive home how little everyone else meant to him before karma hits

THE BOYS SPOILERS I get they were probably going for “Homelander crashing out is an allegory to threatening nuclear weapons but never following through” but the problem is this man has been a menace the ENTIRE series, so doing NOTHING but offscreen a billionaire feels hollow
