As the @NGRSenate reconvenes for its emergency meeting today, we urge them to elevate public interest above personal political calculations and ensure that the final Electoral Act: *Guarantees real-time electronic transmission and colation of polling unit results *Allows for downloadable or electronically generated voter cards (PVC alternatives) to prevent disenfranchisement *Retains the current timelines for key pre-election activities, which are critical for transparency and certainty. The Facts 1. 93% Polling Unit Connectivity: According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), 93% of polling units have network coverage. 2. Real-Time Transmission Is Not New: Real-time transmission has already been implemented in previous elections, including the most recent governorship election in Anambra State. Do not betray public trust. This is an opportunity to shield the credibility and legitimacy of future elections.
