Huberman is such a good scientist, he's on Twitter getting worked up by posts by Ian Miles Cheong. But it's ok he said 'Assuming the below is accurate' like all the other reasonable scientists quoting Ian Miles Cheong.
Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D.@hubermanlab

OK, now I’m going to have to speak up. Assuming the below is accurate @HHSGov & @NIH could have used that 29M USD to fund approximately 20 full five-year NIH grants to laboratories to do basic research. (Including overhead costs). This is egregious. WTF.

By all means enjoy opening your presents… your mid morning bucks fizz.. your selection box.. 20 pigs in blankets.. too many sprouts.. too much pudding...  a turkey butty..  your mince pie and brandy butter…  But enjoy it by being disciplined! 😉 Merry Christmas everybody 🎅🏻

"In 20 years only your children will remember that you worked late" — This quote SHOULD make you think. Over my career, I've been a part of many close teams. Teams that worked hard together, ate lunch together every day, and attended social events together.

I’d argue, as I’m sure @codyroyle would, that working hard all of the time is paradoxically lazy—it’s easy to work hard, but it takes far more courage to set boundaries, focus on what's actually important & ensure you can perform your best. 📖@craig100m simplifaster.com/articles/high-…

If England want to commit to the England DNA philosophy, upgrade tactically whilst maintaining the positive culture from the Southgate era, they should make Lee Carsley the senior manager. Watch England U21 9-1 Serbia U21 and you will see why.

Under Southgate it’s been the best time being an England fan. He’s given us so many great memories. Some will always point to the lack of a trophy win but that paints a misleading picture. He restored pride and joy back to the England mens team and I’ll be forever grateful 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Gareth Southgate’s greatest achievement was not on the pitch, but in the standard that he has set for how a role-model and representative of our country should conduct themselves. In a job which has subjected him to a degree of national scrutiny and criticism that most people will never appreciate, he has been a real mensch, remaining dignified, respectful and considerate throughout. His legacy will be a generation of young people who have learned from him that leadership is primarily about decency, integrity and bringing honour to others. That is worth more to our country than any trophy. The crown of a good name supersedes all. Thank you, Gareth.

Worth remembering today that in 1990 there was an open-top parade when England finished fourth at the World Cup. Southgate didn’t get everything right (who does?) but compared to so much before he’s been remarkable.

Supporting England before Southgate was miserable, but under him it's been a joy. Gutted that he wasn't the man to end the years of hurt with a trophy, but he did in many other ways. When the success comes it will be because of his work, not as a result of his departure
