There’s a newly discovered META out there fam and no it’s not the name of a famous athlete, it’s not an animal, food item or EVEN a viral frog meme.
Y’all want the Ultimate META that will FULL SEND any project and could quite possibly help usher in a Bull Market? Drum Roll 🥁….
It’s You and Me, it’s US.
Now what do I mean by that?! Let’s dive in. 🏊🏼♂️
April 17th, 2023 a date that will forever live in Crypto history as the launch of $PEPE 🐸 the memecoin(with no utility mind you at the time) that took the world by storm. Launched during the midst of the bear market that reached heights no one could ever fathom!
So why did it absolutely giga send?! 🚀
You could say it was the memability yes, you could say it was the dev team sure, you could even say it was just pure dumb luck!
But I can confidently say that the REAL/MAIN reason for its success, was the unlikely/rare unification of both Defi-Crypto and NFT heads.
In my time here in the space I have found it seemingly evident that token/crypto heads very seldomly mess with NFTs and vice versa. Yes there is definitley some overlapping individuals but surprisingly not many.
For the first time in a long time you saw both sides meet, unify and rally behind one project, $PEPE 🐸. Boosted by the desperate longing for something fun in a space plagued by negativity and financial loss. THIS was the aha moment, THIS was and is the ULTIMATE meta and it was right in front of us the entire time.
I preach this all the time in spaces but if you step back and see the space in a MACRO scale Defi-Crypto and NFT heads are all under ONE umbrella of decentralization. We are ONE giant community. And as ONE community we really need to be celebrating each others wins even when it isn’t yours.
I’m not saying this META is easily replicable but what I will say(and it may sound super obvious) is that through the unification of both sides the ENTIRE crypto community as ONE can make waves so large the entire world, globally will have no choice but to notice.
When $SHIB/$DOGE/BAYC made headlines globally the amount of “normie” friends of mine that texted/asked me about how to buy them or even just asking me about what they were, was exhausting(in a good way). The onboarding of new people into the Crypto scene was IMMENSE. The same thing happened with more recently $PEPE 🐸….
As a whole I think we need to occasionally step back and look at the bigger picture while focusing on making sure we support potential gems(like PEPE 2.0 @pepe2coineth or other future projects) that have the SEMBLANCE/makings of the ULTIMATE meta in the hopes that it too can make waves so BIG that normie onboarding catalysts such as $SHIB/$DOGE/BAYC/$PEPE can happen more often.
As cliche and trite as it sounds we ARE still early and I sure as hell would love to share this space, a space that has given me so much, a space I have come to love, with the masses. 🙏🏽
