Resolution also states "since the most recent lapse in appropriations, more than 50,000 frontline TSA employees are working without pay, more than 300 TSA employees have resigned, and the rate of unscheduled personnel absences has increased...drastically increased passenger wait times, travel delays, and overall strain on the transportation security system."

47-37: Senate for a 5th time blocked Homeland Security Department funding legislation to reopen DHS partially shutdown for 35 days. 60 votes are needed. Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote Yes 16 Senators missed the vote that was held open for over two hours. @cspan 2

Landsman (D-OH), who was one of 4 House Democrats to vote No on the Massie-Khanna Iran war powers resolution earlier this month, said today, "Our War Powers Resolution will be ready for a vote soon. I will vote for Congressman Meeks’ War Powers Resolution if it comes to the floor. I urge every one of my colleagues to vote Yes. Senate in session today at Noon to continue for 4th day on GOP SAVE America Act. At 1pm, Senators for a 5th time will vote again attempt to advance Homeland Security Dept funding legislation to reopen DHS now partially shutdown for 35 days. 60 votes are needed. But with no deal reached between Democrats & WH/GOP, it’s expected to fail again. Last vote to attempt to advance DHS funding was on March 12. @cspan 2

For Saturday's planned Senate session, Senators will vote to advance the Blackburn-Tuberville 2nd degree amendment to the GOP SAVE America Act banning biological men from participating in women's sports as well on a Schumer motion to attempt to force a vote on funding for TSA, partially shutdown with the rest of DHS since February 14. Both will need 60 votes. Thune & Schumer set up these votes on the Senate floor tonight.

Senate tonight passed legislation by unanimous consent tonight to prohibit preferential screening for Members of Congress at airports on partial DHS shutdown Day 34 with TSA still unfunded. The End Special Treatment for Congress at Airports Act by Sen. Cornyn (R-TX) now heads to the House.

House next week plans to consider bipartisan legislation named after "The Greatest," the late legendary heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali to update federal boxing regulations, the first major update to federal law on the sport since 2000. The bill by Reps. Brian Jack (R-GA) and Sharice Davids (D-KS) will be considered under suspension of the rules, needing 2/3rd vote for passage, as early as Tuesday. Oklahoma GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin's DHS Secretary nomination is now on the Senate executive calendar, following this morning's 8-7 Senate Homeland Security Committee vote advancing it to the full Senate. Thune is expected to file cloture soon on his nomination, setting up a possible weekend vote to advance it, followed by a final confirmation vote early next week.

8-7: Senate Homeland Security Committee approved Oklahoma GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin to serve as the next DHS secretary, advancing his nomination to the full Senate. Cmte. Chair Rand Paul (R-KY) voted No and Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) voted Yes. A Senate confirmation vote is expected next week.
