I had some good news today. Yesterday I had a DEXA scan at the Royal London to check on my osteoporosis, which was diagnosed 3 years ago. The scan showed that it has disappeared from my spine, and more or less entirely from my hip. This is thanks to an annual infusion of Alendronate and doing weights at the gym. Huge thanks to my consultant, Ali Jawad, at the Mile End Hospital for taking me on this journey.

Fracture liaison services are incredibly important — they identify and treat patients who have already had a fracture to prevent the next one from happening. 1/3

For too many women, a broken bone is the moment they realise osteoporosis was already there undetected, untreated. New NHS scanners will help thousands of patients get tested sooner, start treatment earlier and prevent painful, life-changing breaks.

I have taken the decision to step down from my ministerial responsibilities to allow me to focus on my job representing you, the people of West Lancashire, while I continue to receive oral chemotherapy treatment. My letter to the PM below 👇

I am completely appalled by Donald Trump's ignorant and insulting comments about Nato troops in Afghanistan. I saw first-hand how British and Nato troops fought, bled, and gave their lives on the front lines. Trump's comments are extremely damaging.
