Writing in @HSJnews, Craig Jones says: “Fractures are among the leading cause of disability and premature death in the UK. The root cause is a stark postcode lottery in access to early diagnosis services - called Fracture Liaison Services - with half of NHS trusts in England lacking provision. This is not a failure of medicine, it is a failure of delivery” A promise has been made 63 times by ministers - and with 2,000 lives at stake every year of delay - we're calling on them to deliver on that promise. @wesstreeting @SharonHodgsonMP

England is falling behind as other countries roll out life-saving osteoporosis services. Professor Neil Gittoes at the @RoyalOsteoSoc calls on the government to catch up with a national plan. #PartnerContent civilserviceworld.com/news/article/w…

Full-page ads have appeared in national newspapers today, highlighting the urgent need for early diagnosis clinics across England. Professor Neil Gittoes, Chair of the Board of the Royal Osteoporosis Society said: “Two years into this Parliament, there is still no plan to deliver the commitment made by the Health Secretary to roll out early diagnosis clinics across England. Meanwhile, an estimated 4,000 people have died following fractures that these clinics could have prevented. We remain committed to working with Ministers to find a way forward. We continue to believe this policy is achievable, and that with the right approach it can save thousands of lives.” @wesstreeting @SharonHodgsonMP #63promises @guardian @DailyMirror @Telegraph
