The abnormal warmth last month in the CB was ENTIRELY due to warm overnight lows...high temperatures were just 0.1°F above normal while lows were 2.2°F above normal

June temperatures in the Corn Belt (productivity weighted) ran 1.1°F above-normal...tied with 2024 as the coolest June since 2019. June rainfall in the Corn Belt (productivity weighted) averaged 4.99", 0.92" above normal (122.6%).

Here is the radar estimated rainfall across Iowa since the morning of July 2nd. The heaviest rainfall was near Ames to Ankeny where estimated 8-12 inches of rainfall occurred. Note, in some areas, the radar estimates were underdone. #iawx

In a 24 hour period, parts of Central Iowa saw multiple inches of rain with areas just north of Ankeny seeing over 8"! Rain chances will continue in most of the Central Plains and Ohio Valley throughout next week.

@drbrock37 you need to do a little math to calculate "exactly" what planting progress was "precisely" on April 26 (instead of "week 17") in each of the last 5 years. I show it to be 21, 9, 19, 23, and 22% on April 26 for those 5 years...which would indeed be an average of 19%.

@CraigSolberg understand that. What i don't understand is that the USDA this week said the 5 year average for this week is 19%. The last five years, planted progress in week 17 was 46%, 14%, 26%, 27%, 24%. average of 27.4%

#Corn planting progress is 25% complete. Below for nerds only: USDA says top 18 states 19% on average for this week. My data (verified and from the USDA) - The average for ALL states is 31% for this week - The average for top 18 states, 27% for this week Too much error for within week proration, anyone have an explanation??
