@DMRCyclones "The 2-seed Hawkeyes beat 7-seed Kentucky in the round of 32 in St. Louis" Gosh, wonder why no one reads the Des Moines Register any more...

0.5 MMT drop in Argentine #soybean production in today's USDA report comes despite a 2% increase in acreage from last month's number; yields were dropped 3% to 2.86 MT/ha due to dry conditions. Map shows Jan-Feb % of normal rainfall

No change in Brazil #soybean acreage in today's USDA report so still HUGE differences in that number...Safras/Mercado at just over 48 mil ha, CONAB at 48.4, several firms at 48.7-48.8, USDA at 49.4 million. 48 mil vs. 49.4 mil = 5+ MMT difference in production...

National temperatures in February were the 4th warmest on record, capping off a winter that nationally ranked as the 2nd warmest on record (only the winter of 2023/24 was warmer).

@PHDChicago Safras planted acreage 48.33 mil ha...looks like they are barely over 48 mil ha harvested (177.72 MMT/3.696 MT/ha)...really low, even lower than CONAB and more than a million lower than USDA. Seems like yield numbers in better agreement than acreage! Yur thots?

Brazil SOYBEAN yields "off the charts"!!😮 "96 bpa AVERAGE?!?"🤔 **50% harvested by early March ✔️90 bpa+ (100 bags/ha) common in multiple properties in Center-North ✔️70's & 80's bpa common in vast regions Crop: 182-185 MMTs National yield: ~57/58 bpa (despite issues south)

CONAB 178 MMT #soybeans number; USDA at 180 MMT. But the CONAB yield is actually HIGHER than the USDA (3.675 vs 3.64 MT/ha). It is acreage where they are FAR apart...CONAB about one mil ha lower at last glance. Why is CONAB still contracting their acreage numbers???

A lot of talk about how cold this winter has been...but for Dec-Jan it ranks as the 6th WARMEST on record for the Nation...warmest on record for WA, OR, CA, NV, UT, AZ, and NM; 3rd warmest for NE, 12th warmest for KS, 8th warmest for TX, 2nd warmest for CO, 4th warmest for MT

@kannbwx I disagree with your perception that "Argentine rains have disappointed versus previous forecasts". Below are 3-day rainfall totals (values in millimeters), and note near-term rain chances are not yet over IMO (and probably big rains in the 6-10/11-15 day periods).

Quite the pattern change forecast between Week One and Week Two over North America. Suggestions of dry/cold conditions for Week One to be followed by an active (wet) and warmer pattern for Week Two

A very warm December in the hard-red winter #wheat belt (2nd warmest on record; only 2021 was warmer) and a very dry December as well (3rd driest on record; only 1950 and 1976 were drier)
