@AMcKellar89 I was in that fan group and the answer (from Thelwell) was that Shankland was put forward but the manager at the time (Martin) didn’t want him.

Interesting part is Cavenagh sat in a fan group meeting and basically outlined the reasons we didn’t sign Shankland. *Edit*: having revisited this I’m not sure the reasons weren’t either Russell Martin or something external.

I know it’s that paper and I know it could be clickbait. BUT It’s written by @robert_grieve, their Chief Football Writer, not just some intern regurgitating clickbait rumours. How much would you pay Hearts for Shankland?

Wonder what happens if they go on strike and they aren’t missed because the replacements are better?

A shame for Motherwell but very glad he isn’t heading to Celtic. Hopefully @STVRonnie was right on @STVFootballShow and it’s Robbie Keane heading that way.

@Cindy_C84 Absolutely no idea, it’s bizarre considering it brings another example of his own fans right to the forefront of people’s minds.

@Craig_Dennett Why he brought up Ibrox as an equivalent example is beyond me 🤷 His own fans went on the pitch there first so it's bizarre to use that example as some sort excuse.

Martin O’Neill absolutely floundering here. Quite incredible. He’s gone from saying the fourth official told him there was one minute still to play to saying he assumed the final whistle went when the ball hit the back of the net. The cover up is on!

Every time he speaks to the media, I am given more and more confidence that he can take Rangers to where we want them to be. But then mistake after mistake is made. I’m glad he acknowledges them. Interesting he isn’t missing the players today at all.

Shows the gulf we still have to overcome to catch up. Not sure many would have viewed the gap being as big as it actually is on wage bill alone, nevermind anything else.

Not sure there’s room for sentiment in a season like this but I’m sure Danny Rohl could’ve found a way to make it work for Tav’s last game.
