She claims that the foundation of Western culture is “thin” and that culture is really nothing more than a perpetual state of evolution in response to material causes. Your primary marker of identification should not be tied to religion or the place you live but to your “class.” This is textbook philosophical Marxism.

@dccommonsense @BuckshotJenkins The only thing I will grant them is that it would be much better if politicians spoke more honestly about their uncertainty and explained the reasoning behind updates in guidance. Many health officials did this, but few politicians did. I think that would help build trust.

Hi! Thank you for the insight! I think it worked well, but to be safe, I decided not to rely on that approach. Instead I'm applying the macro to the State class, which avoids any potential issues. With the old way, I realized that when a widget initializes for the first time, it binds the logic to that widget. Later, if you manually listen to another notifier, it binds to a new widget instance, which can result in multiple widgets staying alive. Not a huge problem, but I want to be as efficient as possible. Stay tuned for the new way of building Flutter apps! :D

Hey Flutter devs! 👋 Quick question: I'm storing a reference to a State object inside the StatefulWidget itself (syncing it in didUpdateWidget). It works great in testing, I've tried a lot of ways to break it, but it still holds up! @rebazdev @gawronlucas I'm not aware of anyone having tried this before, but I don't think it will break. You may need to investigate the initial build as I don't believe `didUpdateWidget` is called then. Instead, the framework calls the element's `inflateWidget` method, IIRC.

@filiphracek So I’ve never actually used shaders before. Are there any restrictions? Like, can I use shaders for blurs/opacities?

#indiedev tip: Use fractal-like shaders if you want to add visual interest to your game or app. They can be so fast that they have almost no impact on performance (unlike videos), there's plenty of them on ShaderToy, and they can be personalized to death.

@_eseidel Not to be a homer, but Antigravity is what did it for me. Cursor's UI for suggested edits is a little too invasive, annoying for me. Antigravity threads the needle just right for my tastes. And Gemini 3's suggestions are outstanding.

@xsterx My antigravity quota doesn't seem to last longer than a few minutes... Also my sense is internal antigravity has a bunch of superpowers the public one doesn't. But I'm hopeful for when those are fixed. Playing with ClaudeCode tonight.
