@SpezzD I love that we are in a position where we don’t care too much about the 2 short handed goals against or that penalty in OT, which is partly due to the fact that we don’t know whether we want to win or lose for WC1 or WC2.

@SanderGoat85 @politicstcan Yeah it does seem high but don’t forget how much save% can fluctuate with just a few more saves or a few less. And also the Sens allow few shots against often times, so that also has an effect on Save%. Last game he was great yet only faced 23 shots

Tbf not bashing Ullmark but there’s been a lot of talk about how great he’s been lately and how he’s finally living up to his contract, when really he’s had like a .900 save percentage which is just average

@SanderGoat85 @politicstcan Exactly. Shot counts and averages are down a lot this year due to people shooting less and them counting shots in a more standardized way. So .900 now is like .915-.920 according to an NHL goalie in an NHL.com article about this (I forget which goalie though)

Good morning Sens fans. Scenario update for today: An Ottawa win coupled with a Boston regulation loss would clinch the Wild Card 1 spot for the Senators in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa would be locked into that spot. But playoff opponent still TBD.

@SanderGoat85 Kleven might be 5D but damn he has played well this year. If we didn’t have two top defensemen (Sandy and Chabby), Kleven could be a top 4D (not close to ideal though). He and Spence really stepped up big time this last month.

@NaftaliClinton Yeah I agree. I don’t worry about a top 4 D anymore although i wouldn’t say no. A combination of Spence, Yak and Matinpalo can take care of the bottom 2 RD positions. A good backup would be good until Leevi is ready, and then we just need a top 6 scoring winger if possible

You know how the leafs fans always said "run it back"? Well the sens actually should run back this roster for the most part. Keep the defense exactly what it is now. Keep ullmark (mostly because we cant just get rid of him) Keep the forwards mostly the same but if the opportunity presents itself, bring in a scorer. BUT Very very important They must bring in a capable 1B goalie to tandem with Ullmark

@Cram250 @sabre_talk Its good he realized why his goaltending sucked (depression and anxiety are absolutely fuckers that can go to hell) and got help for it. Because when he came back, he has been so much better and the last few games has been unbelievable!

Man would i hate to play Ottawa, they are by far better than Boston and MTL in my opinion, we typically match up well against them but i watch ALOT of Sens games (my brother is a sens fan) they are legit. If they can even get average G, they can go on a run #sabrehood #gosensgo

@SanderGoat85 I agree. The Sens are like 34-4-6 or smth stupid with .880 Sv% or above this year and if you look at the stats and standings since Jan 25 (the Vegas game), the Sens have been a juggernaut. I’d say we are least top 8 in the league and the top teams are all very close.

Genuinely think with good goaltending we are already a contender. #Sens

Criticized this guy all year, went hard on him when Florida torched us recently. But this guy has genuinely carried us, I can’t even come up with anything negative anymore. He just eats pucks like he’s prime Volchenkov. Ggs Linus.

This season has been such a rollercoaster that I think we've almost overlooked the fact that the goal is to actually do some damage in the playoffs. Obviously won't be easy, but I think the internal bar is set higher than just making the playoffs again. Hottest team in hockey. Go win a series. Playing with an unreal confidence right now.
