You know I never quite put my finger on what it was about newer Minecraft versions that feel so off compared to what made me love the game but this comparison perfectly illustrates it.
Don't get me wrong, the new biomes are awesome, but it comes with a loss of the fantastical nature of classic Minecraft with the insane world generation. Even with taller mountains and deeper caves it just doesn't feel like the same game anymore.
Fans of the game now view this as just nostalgia or hating on the game for no reason but the reality isn't that we dislike the game just that it isn't the same game anymore that a large part of the playerbase bought the game for.
