Also, if Twitter were to go away, companies might actually have to make their front line customer service less terrible instead of using social media escalations as their escape hatch to excuse otherwise bad service.

Been thinking a lot about what it might mean if Twitter were to go away.
For one, losing this giant repo of mostly-public content isn’t great for the health of the open web… especially if it that content goes to closed platforms. 1/

Here's what Twitter said they would do for the midterms. Feels pretty impossible to accomplish without a curation team and if 8 bucks is all you need to be verified.

The fact “verified user Keanu Reeves” is still active many hours after going viral is the biggest warning sign yet that this is all going to go to hell rather quickly (which is exactly @abnerpastoll’s point).
