This morning at the Black in Sport Summit! We’ve had a great morning of sessions and networking so far and there’s more to come!

Alumna Simbi Sonuga of Octagon joined a panel on breaking into the sports industry as a minority for @lborobiss this afternoon. Discussing imposter syndrome, she says: “Remind yourself of all the things you’ve overcome to get to where you are.”

Mike interviewed @thomasyoungt38, a current Loughborough student and sports scholar, and fellow Paralympian @AdeneganK. They discussed balancing elite sport with studies and other commitments.

Netballer @amaagbeze speaks about her experiences: 🗣 “Growing up I would smile, grin, & be chilled. People took that as I was a fool - that wasn’t the case. “When I did my GCSEs people were like ‘she’s actually really bright’ - I wasn’t just the person in the corner smiling.”

Alumna @amaagbeze has joined @lborobiss today to discuss changing the narrative. Ama is a Commonwealth Gold medalist in Netball and a qualified lawyer. Delegates heard about her career in netball and law, as well as how she has worked to fit in 💜

Alumnus Mike Wedderburn talks about overcoming barriers with Darren Lewis and Sky Andrew. They’ve covered topics relating to football, educating others, and racial bias in commentary.
