At least we both agree she is slow, very slow. and as naive as an 8 year old in the body of a 20 year old. As an example, Alphinaud's naivety and bad choices had more impactful consequences. Wuk Lamat's just comes as a poor quirky character trait that is used as justification to show you the pretty places.

Idealistic Naivety is a very common trait in many shonen level lead characters. It's meant to show a purity of spirit expected in the young. A slow wit and a mind that's not really geared for strategy or sciences. Leaving her in need of aid in those departments. Far too optimistic, causing her to trust in people she shouldn't and take risks most sane people wouldn't. She's a slow learner of lessons at times, often finally seeing the light in a situation too late to prevent damage from being done. She's got plenty of flaws, and you poorly wording her Naivety which is engineered to deliver the narrative like it's a downside when it isn't doesn't really change that.

what are her flaws? not knowing her people and being "Sheltered"? waow, so deep, so compelling, so not a mary sue and showing so much character development through the main quest. and she just starts believing in herself and becomes a powerful being capable of breaking through reality and do screen tearing attacks that take down (to be fair, already weakened) god like beings

Having flaws is literally what makes a character not a Mary Sue, as a Mary Sue is a powerful character that has no flaws and gets away with anything. Wuk's almost the polar opposite that that, riddled with flaws and issues and stumbling more than she stands. Her strength isn't really inconsistent, her enemies simply have different strengths to match it.

@sagathena @AtelierBagur @TheDerpaholich for sure, she can be the muscle of the operation, like the bad guy that had a tropy 180 change of character, Did you notice how inconsistent her strenght is during the whole thing? she is like a mary sue with "flaws"

@CrestedEcho @AtelierBagur @TheDerpaholich We also then literally see the future of Tural where she goes on quests and adventures to protect the country while he hangs back and manages the logistics. They work as a better pair than their father did as a ruler because his two heads always had to be in the same place.

@CrestedEcho @AtelierBagur @TheDerpaholich She literally appoints him her co-ruler. The entire first arc literally drills the message of two balanced heads over and over again as a theme to the point that anyone that can't just guess it boggles my mind.

So, yeah, you missed most of the plot there. Wuk was worthy because she had passion and a heart to protect. Making her half the equation to be an equal to her father. Nothing about her competence is unearned, we're literally there and helping her become that the whole time, that's the freaking first half of the expansion's plot. A lot of this is random throwaway babble that makes me almost entirely sure you haven't actually engaged with Dawntrail's story. Shadowbringer's Rehash? What the ever loving fuck?

Wuk is a quirky ignorant character pulled from scooby doo, she doesn't show any reason to be the ruler but she is the right choice because reasons. unearned competence, missed opportunities during the contest and the scions, the cooking pairing, the sphiiiiin! thancred shadowbringers rehash come to my mind as some examples.

All of her siblings receive nearly the same amount of education, most of them hailing from different parts of the nation. She and they also each have a region they're already familiar with, as people don't exactly travel border to border regularly. We literally fight and kill the major reason people don't travel between settlements too, in the plot. She even has a sibling who is even more new to things than she is, as he was adopted off a ship in port and hasn't been to any of the settlements.
