When I first got my car, one evening after work I noticed the AC suddenly stopped working.

Your car's AC is a closed system. Which means gas does not finish. The only thing that'll cause gas to finish is a leakage. So if you're out of coolant, my first advice would be to look for the leakage. Otherwise, you'll buy that gas again in 2 weeks.
