6. The Most Absurd Rain Rule Ever
The Incident: In the 1992 World Cup semi-final, South Africa suddenly saw 22 required from 13 balls become 22 from just 1 ball after rain and the then rain rule.
The What If: Under today's playing conditions, the finish would have looked completely different.
Why It Matters: That match became one of the biggest reasons cricket eventually changed how rain-affected games are decided.
Sometimes, history changes not because of a player, but because of a rule.

@rajesh_v_rajan Thats some interesting insight, it has forced me to rethink about my choice here.
I too always have a feeling that perhaps their complaint with rules a bit exaggerated as they were 6 down chasing 23 runs in some 13 balls, a stiff target in that era.

@CricDiva For 6 - In the end it evened out - the rain rule was farcical for that WC and then what hpnd in Semis was unfrotunate for SA but the result was just fair. Because in that WC there was another rule to stop the match at a certain time irrespective of # of overs bowled

@CricDiva 3/n- The team which suffered the most, playing fairly as well, was India. They were docked 3 overs but taget was reduced by just 1 run. That was the "What-If" moment !! Beating hosts Aus would have given India a huge flip
