The Cricket Slouch
@Cricket_Slouch
I eat, drink, and talk cricket. A Cricket Slouch and your friendly umpire. I also make typso.

Demanding why other commentators are not picking up such stories is irrelevant. That is not my point, and to be honest many of them also talk about such stories. Nor am I trying to question Ian Bishop's great work ethic. I am asking you, as cricket lovers, to also go and read and celebrate the reporters who make Bishop and other commentators look good on air with great reporting from the ground. You giving them credit does not make Bish look bad, I am sure he would welcome it as a great commentator, and more importantly, as a very decent man.

Always preferred over book-cricket that flat-deck T20s are turning into :)

Is the IPL getting too boring with these tracks, or have our batters unlocked a new code to swing hard at everything? It's getting boring

While most are busy with the IPL, @Sportsfan3791 and I went down nostalgia lane to reminisce the 2001 Edwn Gardens test between Ind and Aus, and see if 25 years have dimmed our view of it.. what are your memories of that match ? open.spotify.com/episode/5LBllR…

A controversial moment in cricket history. #OnThisDay in 1995, Steve Waugh claimed a disputed catch to dismiss Brian Lara on 65. Waugh juggled a cut shot multiple times as he tumbled forward, but replays later showed the ball had touched the ground. Despite the doubt, Lara paused briefly before walking off, marking one of the most debated and decisive moments of the tour. “If I had doubts, I wouldn’t have claimed it,” Waugh said later. Australia won the test by 10 wickets.

Who will tell the Emperor he is naked?

On another topic, at the Gabba in 1999-00, when the scores were tied, Venkatesh Prasad was trying to mankad Waqar Younis, while bowling to Saqlain Mushtaq. If Waqar was dismissed (he wasn't), I've a feeling Tendulkar (as skipper) would have recalled him. Or may be not.
