Dear President Trump, I’ve had something weighing on my mind for a while and I need to get it off my chest. As an American, I don’t like military conflict but understand and respect the need for it from time to time. I’m old enough to remember when Iran was a viable country, her people enjoying freedom and economic success. I also remember when the Ayatollah overthrew the Shah and kidnapped 66 Americans in 1979. For 47 years, the Islamic extremists have committed horrendously barbaric acts and have been a threat. I have but one request; finish them. While I’d prefer a peaceful resolution, it’s clear that’s no longer a viable option. Target and eliminate the IRGC, expeditiously. We can no longer afford to fund, with either financial or human resources, extended conflicts. Our debt is nearly 40 trillion. There are 44,000 homeless veterans, and nearly 6,000,000 with service connected disabilities. Once the dust settles, do not accept refugees into the US. Do not fund the rebuilding of Iran. That responsibility rests solely on the Iranian citizens. Additionally, fiscal responsibility includes ending the weekly $40 million of tax payer dollars delivered to Afghanistan (currently under control of the Taliban). Our children and grandchildren must not be saddled with that financial debt. In the simplest of terms: America, not Iran, Israel, or any other foreign nation, is the priority.
