🗣️ Sameen Rana on Sikandar Raza's relationship with Lahore Qalandars: "When the retentions were being finalized, Sikandar told me, 'Sameen Bhai, I want to be retained in the Silver category.' I was shocked, but he insisted it was necessary for the team's balance. I told him I couldn't be so disrespectful, but he argued that as a foreign player, it was his choice. After a long argument, I refused and insisted that he be in either Diamond or Gold, and he finally agreed to the Gold category. Even then, I told him that while he was coming into Gold, the rules allowed him to take whatever salary he wanted. He replied, 'Sameen Bhai, I will take $40,000.' I told him that was barely 1 Crore PKR, which was far too little. He said that he might play other leagues for money, but he plays for Lahore because they are like family. I still tried to push for more and communicated with his agent and committed to a higher amount of roughly 2.8 Crore. When Sikandar saw the email, he immediately sent me a screenshot with 'NO SAMEEN BHAI' written in capital letters. He wouldn't even pick up my call at first because he was genuinely upset that I had increased the money against his wishes. I had to call Shaheen in Colombo to intervene so Sikandar would finally talk to me. That is the kind of relationship Sikandar has with Lahore Qalandars."

🗣️ Sameen Rana: "Usama [Mir] is one of the finest leg-spinners in Pakistan. He has always been picked in the top category in the PSL, and last year, he was even retained by Multan. Back then, I already had it in mind that if Multan released him, I would go for him, but at that time, Ali [Tareen] didn’t let him go. This time, the auction worked in our favor as Usama was available, and I had already set aside a budget for him."
