The Cable Guy (1996) bombed on release but is now considered ahead of its time. This deleted scene featured Jim Carrey crawling out of a television in a direct parody of Freddy Krueger. The scene was ultimately cut because the filmmakers felt it was very disturbing.

I’m not gonna write this off yet. It might surprise me like Hoppers did… but I don’t fault people for saying this feels this feels too familiar.
My biggest question, though, is why did they change the main character from a boy to a girl? I would have loved a mother and story.
