Thinking of doing a little onboarding today. Maybe a couple @digital_slops and a few @SloppyApeYC New ppl only no holders or past holders. (i will read the chain) Looking for some true believers not just some penny pinchers. Real ones, with jokes, and snacks, and heart! No wallet drop, no tag a friend (unless they need a sloppy). Just tell me why you want in and why you havent got one yet. I pick who I want to pick no randomness no RNG. If your story or hell even art catches my eye then maybe you a winner. RULES: Post in replies an art piece showing slops or apes or better yet both together. OR Post a full reply as to why you wanna be on team Slops ( not just some lame reason) AND Add eth wallet thats it. Lets see who really wants to be here! Caveat I suck at these GAs

You are right and this is exactly why things need to change. Whitelist today rewards visibility and grinding instead of real collectors, which means people who actually care get left out while flippers get in. We need to move toward on chain based selection and better tools that let projects pick proven holders and collectors instead of guessing. Otherwise the same cycle just keeps repeating.

@Crispsy Given the current state of web3, I think projects should redefine how they give WL. For example, I was really hyped by D00ds art and everything about it, I would have never sold my freemint but I couldn't get WL when I don't know how many jeeters got one.

I took the time to scan every single SAYC collab wallet, not to push a narrative or protect anyone’s feelings, but to look at what actually happened on chain. Out of 1154 unique wallets that came in through collaborations, only 66 wallets are still holding today, leaving a brutal and hard to ignore 5.72% retention rate. That means over 1000 wallets did not come to build, did not come to stay, and did not come to be part of something bigger, they came for one thing only, and that was the exit liquidity. These were not partnerships in any meaningful sense, and they were not aligned communities growing together over time, this was short term attention that turned into immediate sell pressure the moment there was value to extract. And what hits the hardest is how normal this has become. Collabs in this space too often mean temporary exposure followed by silent exits, where conviction lasts just long enough to secure a mint and disappears the second flipping becomes possible. Over 1088 wallets now hold zero, not because they lost access or forgot, but because they made a deliberate decision that short term profit mattered more than long term belief. I am not saying this out of frustration, I am saying it because this is the reality the data shows. If anything real is going to be built in this space, then this has to be acknowledged, because without conviction, there is no community, only transactions.

@MicroPostBlog You're not wrong. And some part of the free mints do not have anything to do with art. Sad when legit good art projects get drowned in this environment.

@Crispsy Honestly, I am still kind of new in web3 but I really think crypto/NFT are viewed as easy/free money for 90/95% of people in web3. They don't care about art, about project, long term etc, it's just a way to get money, even if it is a low amount

If you are putting together a whitelist and actually want real holders instead of short term sellers, here is a simple cheat sheet that removes the guesswork and replaces it with proven data. sayc.app/og I have already done the heavy lifting, and on our site you can access a curated list of verified diamond hands, allowing you to choose exactly how many wallets you want to whitelist without spending hours digging through wallets, tracking behavior, or trying to figure out who will actually stay after mint. These are wallets that have been consistently holding SAYC since the beginning of 2026, which means their behavior is not based on short term profit but on actual conviction. If you want your mint to have a stronger foundation, better holder quality, and less immediate sell pressure, then start by whitelisting people who have already proven they know how to hold.

@scooter_mcgee At the same time we have 847 so called “og” wallets that are diamond handing their holdings since start of the year 2026. They were the wallets after quick flippers did their thing and left.

It baffles me to be honest. I was pretty naive in the beginning 7 months ago and thought it was just a few people. Now I’m beginning to realize it’s actually the majority of people that are flipping and just a few core holders keeping things a float. Even now I’m seeing people on TL complaining about bad apples in the WL/ GTD lists giving the NFTs a bad name. Those same people being the loudest and complaining ( big wallets) are the ones doing the most damage buying large quantities and then flipping for a few X in profit. Make it make sense lmao. I appreciate you putting this out there for people to see. Numbers don’t lie and everything is tracked.

I swear it feels like we live in a simulation. Same playbook as 2022. Bitcoin sells off during the start of a new conflict, finds a low in February, then bounces into March.
Benjamin Cowen@intocryptoverse

Often times, risk assets sell off, then bounce as major conflicts start. If a rally for Bitcoin does materialize, it will likely yield a lower high in March, just like it did in 2022. Bear markets tend to take a while to play out.
