The truth matters. It can be uncomfortable to acknowledge at times, but it is vital. While persisting in self-deceit is often easier, it will ultimately lead you down a lesser path. Take the harder path: display some intellectual fortitude, elevate truth, and be better for it.

Often times, things that come to mind easily will lead you to the wrong conclusions. Whenever you’re confronted with a decision, stop and assess if you’re using System 1 or System 2 thinking. Think critically and slow your thinking. ➡️ bit.ly/3SlEq7V

It’s difficult to have the best results when you're decisions are predicated on lies, misinformation, or other distortions of reality. The clarity that unpleasant truths bring is worth the temporary discomfort of acknowledgment. Think critically and embrace the truth.

Insecure arrogance: "I have all the answers. Only I can fix it." Confident humility: "I have many questions. We need to study what broke it." The people to trust are not the ones who project the most confidence. They’re the ones who know the limits of their competence.

Facts, by themselves, don't change our minds. But facts wrapped in a good story, friendship, or a dialogue just might.

Beliefs should be tentative. What you knew yesterday is different from what you know today and both will be different from what you know tomorrow. Our knowledge is dynamic and constantly being updated. The best intellectual position is to remain open to being wrong.

Learning is a lifelong journey, not a destination. This quote also highlights a paradox of knowledge; the more you learn, the more you realize how much you actually don't know. It's okay not to know. It's not a sign of weakness, but an opportunity for growth.

For many, when discussing contentious topics the objective is to win. As result, it is common for people to resort to distortions of the argument since it is easier to argue against. The goal of a dialogue is not to win, but to understand. ➡️ bit.ly/3BIZRu9

Rational - Having or exercising reason, sound judgment, or good sense. Rationalize - Attempting to explain or justify with logical, plausible reasons, even if these are not true or appropriate. Rational > Rationalize Think critically and aim to be rational!
